Doris A. Egan was born in Blooming Grove, Texas to Doris D. and Opal (Adkins) Eddlemon. She left this life in Pueblo, Colorado, to be with our Lord in Heaven and join her parents and her spouse of over 40 years, Jack K. Egan. Everybody who knew Doris would say she was a lovely lady, meticulously dressed, every hair in place, who presented herself with style and grace.
Growing up she enjoyed going to school and church programs and events with friends. It was at school where she met one of the most influential people in her life, Ruth Edmundson Ramsey. Doris graduated from Blooming Grove High School in 1958, with a class of 25. The Senior Class of 1958 stayed in touch like family.
After graduation, she moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Later, she found herself living and working in California, Utah, and, Colorado. During her working years, she pursued a legal career and education. She became a Certified Paralegal and worked for several different law firms.
Doris enjoyed eating, reading, learning, sewing, cooking, gardening flowers and vegetables (she had a green thumb!), and, watching golf and old comedy re-runs on TV. She loved chocolate and spending time with friends, family, and, her Fur Family: Cesar, Maggie, Ginger, and, King.
Doris is survived by her Son, Bradley W. Strickland; Step Sons, Thomas Patrick (Gloria) and John Michael Egan; Sister, Susan (Eddlemon) Killough (Joe); and, Grandchildren, Michael, Danny, and, Scott Egan and Katie (Egan) Barefoot.
A Graveside Service will be held at Ft. Logan Cemetery in Denver CO. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: (1) Ruth Edmundson Ramsey Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 54, Blooming Grove, TX 76626; (2) Alzheimer’s Association; (3) any Humane Society; or, (4) charity of your choice.
