John and family-I was in hopes that Linda and I could be there tonight but as you know I haven't been feeling very well. I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your father but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Filer Family, 
Elmer was an exceptional mentor for me in my teenage years growing up and working at Gases & Arc.  He was an incredible person and always was there to talk, listen and joke with.  I never have met anyone who could make me laugh like Elmer.  Joke telling was taken to the highest level and is now lost with his passing.  I hold a special place in my heart for Elmer and how he went through life giving all that it could take.

John & Family - Your Dad came into the Board of Water Works to see my boss a few years ago. I had never met your Dad before, but when I learned his name was Filer, I asked if he was related to you. His face lit up, and he beamed as he told me he was your Dad and filled me in on your job, your family, and so on. He even made a special trip back to the office to bring pictures of you and the family. If I remember correctly, one showed you with your rifle and on a hunting trip. Even though he was up in years, he had all his faculties and was just a delightful man! Your mother had passed by that time, so I didn't get to meet her. But it was obvious how proud he was of you and your family. What a blessing! I pray for your peace at this sad time. Leslie Martinez

As a young man growing up in Pueblo, I worked with Elmer in summer jobs at Gases and Arc Supply, Jack Culig is a relative of mine.  I am so sorry to hear of his passing, Elmer was a great guy with a great sense of humor and one of my favorite people I have ever met.  God Bless!

I am honored that I had the opportunity to have known Elmer even for a short time. He always shared what he knew and was always quick with a joke. I learned about Jerusalem artichokes from him. I watched numerous videos on how he made squirrels go through great lengths to get a treat. What a delight Elmer was. My condolences to his family.

Pam and Johnny, I'm very sorry to hear the loss of the your father. He was a character and a fun guy. I'll always remember him trying out some new gadget on the Dahlia Lane neighborhood (i.e. shocking devices, swimming pools made from the bed of a truck, etc.). Those were some of the best years to remember; many great times.
