

Elsie M. Schultz (affectionately known as “The Duchess of Delmar”) passed away on January 12, 2014, at the age of 101. She was born November 25, 1912, in Wayne County, Indiana. Preceded in death by her husband, Bert Schultz. She is survived by her children, Peter (Mary) Schultz, Brooksville, FL; Stephen (Alys) Schultz, Virginia Beach, VA; and Margaret (Darryl) Murphy, Pueblo, CO. She leaves 8 grandchildren, Raoul, Kirsten, Luke, Melissa, Ruth Ann, Sarah, Micah and Taviri; and 8 great-grandchildren, Ariella, Ailani, Evan, Ella, Eian, Emerson, Aika and Finnian. Elsie graduated from Ohio State University, and later received a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Smith College. She served her country during World War II as a member of a special Red Cross military unit attached to military hospitals. During her social work career she spent active service in several Pueblo agencies. She enjoyed her family; and had an interest in pottery, oil painting an art education for children. She was a member of Ascension Episcopal Church and PEO Chapter 2. Cremation at her request. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
