Gene DeHerrera passed away on March 28, 2024. He was born in New Mexico on Oct. 17, 1953. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Patsy DeHerrera; brother, Bob DeHerrera; and sister-in-law, Dianne DeHerrera; brother in law Rodney Handy and good friend, Al Montoya. He is survived by daughters, Regina DeHerrera (fiancé Brandon Bush) and Charlene Powelliet; brothers and sisters, Lee Mendoza (Dan), Josie Castillo (Cam), Carmen Handy, Felix DeHerrera (Inesa), Dave DeHerrera (Diane), Helen DeHerrera (Mark Randles) and Rick DeHerrera (Becky). He graduated from University of Southern Colorado with a business degree and worked for Mountain Bell. He loved to watch the Denver Nuggets and the Broncos. At his request, cremation has taken place and a small private service will be held.
