She was born October 27, 1939 in Trinidad, CO to her parents, Gilbert and Tomasita Gallegos, who preceded her in death. Later, she moved to Pueblo, CO where she lived the remainder of her life with her loving husband of 67 years, Tom Santos by her side until the end.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Thomas Jr., and Sandra (Stuart) Garcia. As well as her siblings, Gene, Irene, Gilbert Jr., Sarah, and Danny, and in-laws, Joe and Lupe Santos.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Tom Santos; children, Kathy (Ben) Palin, and Laurie (Larry) Bowman; grandchildren, Mallory (Marc) Bensik, Bonnie (Kevin) Carter, Thomas (Kari) Palin, Max (Matthew) Montano, Scott Garcia, and Lindsy Giannetto. The lights of her life and great grandchildren, Colt, Savannah, and Kane Carter, Cal and Olivia Bensik, and Wynn Palin. Her siblings Christine (Joe) Flores, Joe Gallegos and Phyllis Rivera, Brother-in-law, Joseph “Mick” Santos and sister-in-law, Louise (Terry) Hodges and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There was nothing she was more proud of than her family that she created, and the only thing stronger than her faith was her belief that a good home cooked meal could cure all.
Her family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to her hospice team who helped her know love and peace before her transition. She will be missed more than words can express, but the comfort that she is no longer in pain is greater than any hurt her family feels.
Viewing will be at 9:30 A.M., Thursday, August 22, 2024, followed by a service at 10:00 A.M. Both are held at Imperial Funeral Home.
