

Frank Bauman, 78, passed away December 13, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Kay Bauman; children Ginger (Carlos) Iglesias, Denise (Todd) Baechtel, Aaron (Tanya) Bauman, Sherry (Phil) Maloney, Julie (Dan) McCoy, and Marcia (Richard) Jeans and 8 grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his daughter Karen Bauman and his parents Roy and Verna Bauman.
Frank was born in Boone, Colorado, the only child to Roy and Verna (Watson) Bauman in 1933. He spent his childhood in Boone and was known for his talented basketball skills in high school
After graduating from Boone High school, his first job was at the Army Depot. His least favorite work experience was at the mines in Climax, CO. He was manager for Wells Fargo Security Services for many years. He spent some time working at the missile site in Wyoming as well as security guard for a number of years at the CFI. He signed up for the Navy reserves during the Korean war and served from 1950 to 1962 and then followed with 4 years in the Air Force reserves.
In 1954 he married Myrna Claggett. They had four children: Ginger, Karen, Denise and Aaron.
He met the love of his life, Kay in 1973 at a Parents without Partners meeting. They did not get to speak much at the meeting but a memorable impression was made. The next day he sent a dozen roses to “the kindergarten teacher” at Irving School. The rest was history and they married in 1975. He warmly welcomed her children; Sherry, Julie and Marcia into his life.
Frank enjoyed traveling, in particular driving trips. It was well known that Frank would not travel anywhere that required flying. He loved the ocean, great food and red wine.
One of Frank’s passions was furry, four-legged critters. Frank faithfully donating to the Pueblo no-kill animal shelter (PAWS) for years. His current animal kingdom consists of Rufus (dog) and three cats: Bobby, Cookie and Mustard.
Frank was a co-owner of City Cab Co and BB& KK Trucking Company; which delivers papers through out the state for the Pueblo Chieftain. Frank’s partners in business are his son, Aaron Bauman and George Kirby. Frank was well respected by his employees and known for his generosity and hard work.
A memorial service will be held Saturday 11:00 Imperial Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to PAWS through the funeral home office. Arrangements under the direction of Imperial Funeral Home, Pueblo, CO.
