

Freddie J Meier, 94. May 4, 1922-June 9, 2016, now reunited with his love for over 66 years, Lorraine. Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Katie Meier, sisters Kay Stallion and Betty June Kilgore, and brother William Meier. Survived by children, Ann Lynne (Roger) Kubik, David Keith (Lora) Meier, and youngest sister Louise (Tom) Keach; grandchildren Kelli (Eric) Will, David Keith Meier Jr., Darone (Mandy) McNamer and Heath (Christine) Eberly; great grandchildren Eli and Isaac Will and Raven McNamer; and by special niece Peri Wertz, who has been one of his loving caregivers. Also survived by extended family and friends and other loving caregivers, Mary, Alyssa and Nick Lucero, Roberta Rivera and Kay Aragon; and last, but not least, his constant and protective fur babies, Jax the Wonder Dog and Angel Baby. A proud WWII Veteran, Freddie served his country with the 2472d Quartermaster Truck Company, Stationed in the CBI (China-Burma-India) Theater from Oct 5, 1942 to 12 Feb 1946. A 64 year member of the Pueblo Elks Lodge #90, and a 44 year member of the American Legion Post, Pueblo. He was selected and greatly honored to participate in the Southern Colorado Veterans Honor Flight in September 2013, truly enjoying the privilege of sharing this once-in-a-lifetime trip with all the other veterans. Freddie spent most of his working career at the Pueblo Army Depot, in the Munitions and Surveillance Branches until his retirement in 1980. He and Lorraine enjoyed many years as Amway distributors, continuing the business until recently by himself; they also served many years in the special ministry as Head Ushers at the First United Methodist Church. Freddie was a happy, cheerful, gentle, hard-working man who deeply loved his family and friends. He loved many different sports and had a great love for animals, particularly his horses, many dogs and his one adopted stray cat - DC (Damn Cat), named by Lorraine because the cat only liked Freddie. He will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure of sharing in his love and joy during his life. Visitation on Tuesday, 14 June, 4-6 PM at Imperial Funeral Home. Funeral Services on Wednesday, 15 June, 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church.
