Gordon Howard Helfert, 65, was called to heaven on 08/10/2016. Preceded in death by parents, Howard and Emily Helfert. Survived by LouAnn Helfert, wife of 33 years; sister, Janet (Ernie) Lenhardt; loving family and many friends. Born in Chicago, Illinois, 06/21/1951. Graduated with honors from George Williams University as a Recreation Therapist. He retired from CMHIP after 30 years. Proudly served his country in Vietnam for 3 tours. Purple Heart and Silver Star recipient. Gordon will be greatly missed by all. Cremation with no inurnment. Military honors and Celebration of Life at 2PM, Friday, 08/19/2016 at Imperial Funeral Home chapel. Donations to Wounded Warriors or ASPCA.
