
Helen Florene Hergenreder Pierce was born May 21, 1928, in Loveland, CO, to the union of John and Mollie Hergenreder. She went home to be with Jesus September 1, 2013 at the age of 85. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norman, six brothers and two sisters. She is survived by daughters Kathi (Ron) Gionet, Knoxville, TN, and Nancy (Steve) Drost, Castle Rock, CO, grandchildren Kerry (Jason) Norman, Ryan (Trisha) Hensley, Michael Pierce, Conner and Callie Drost, great-grandchildren Caleb, Josiah, and Noah Hensley, and Conner Norman, brothers Ray Hergenreder, Las Vegas, NV, and Willie (Patti) Hergenreder, Nashville, TN, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and loving caregivers at Baptist Health Care Center in Lenoir City, TN. Helen lived in Loveland until she married Norman in 1947 and in 1951 they finally settled in Pueblo where she lived until 2008 when she moved to Knoxville to live with Kathi and Ron. Helen loved watching the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche. She also enjoyed a good laugh, bowling, and playing a good game of cards. She was a wonderful cook and made the best apple pie for miles around. She was diagnosed with vascular dementia and spent the last three years of her life at Baptist Health Care Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, September 23, 2013, at Imperial Funeral Home Chapel. Donations in Helen’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
