Even though my husband and I have been out of touch through the years, with Jeanie and Gary, we have wonderful memories of this loving couple who gave us such encouragement and direction of starting a new church in Pueblo!  They both had such love for each other, their family, their church, and others!  Jeanie will be sorely missed by anyone who knew her! Our prayers are for Gary, Cindy, and Christy, and the rest of the family! Love y’all ❤️

A lot of years have gone by from when we first met in our new neighborhood on Barclay! Christy got us together after she, as a little squirt, toddler to my house asking if she could play with my "little kid" (2 yrs. old son). We spent lots of time together, with & without our 3 kids, cooking green chile, crocheting shawls, worrying about whether "her" hair would grow back after it cracked off from over coloring, or how we'd each survive if either of us moved. Luckily, our friendship did survive as we both moved on with (not frequent enough chats) to keep up on all that was happening...good & bad! I'm lucky to have known my friend, Jeanie.

Hi Cindy, hi Christy! So sorry to hear about your mom. I remember her well. Hope you guys are doing okay. Again, my condolences. 

I met Christy in high school, she became and still remains my best friend. Jeanie put up with all our shaninigans with a smile and a shake of the head,  always wondering what was coming next from us. But no matter what we did or how silly we were Jeanie always made me feel as if I belonged. I was always welcome at the Ames house.
I spent more time at Jeanie's house than my own, especially weekends.
I'll always remember how Jeanie  looked so beautiful all the time, I never once saw her without her hair and makeup done, she carried herself with such grace.  She was so amazingly patient, kind and loving. My heart is broken that she is gone, but I'm happy to have had the pleasure of being a part of her life. 
Gary, Christy, and Cindy, thank you for sharing her with me. Mom rest in peace beautiful lady. 

I was blessed to have been able to work with Jeanie!  What a wonderful and happy person.   Through Jeanie I had the pleasure of getting to know some wonderful people....her family!  I worked with her daughter and son-in-law.  Played softball with her other daughter.  She will be missed.  Jeanie was a fantastic nurse and helped many people.  God Bless you all!  Prayers!


When I was 6 years old my dad Gary was with Jeanie (mom). I have to say we made quite the Brady bunch. Mom was always the most kind, sweet, and loving person. Growing up mom was the one I always wished my birth mom was. She has always been one of the most beautiful people I've ever met both inside and out. I will always hold an eternal love for this wonderful lady I got blessed enough to have as a MOM!!! Forever in my heart, thoughts and memories. I know you had a joyous reception as you entered heavens gates. Until we meet again I will send my love to you in prayer.  I pray the family will have their hearts heal quickly knowing that she is celebrating in heaven. RIP with lots of love mom

Living next door to her in the early 80’s,  she was so fun, so giving.  We shared so many things, the Lord as one main topic.  Our families were friends and Christy has kept in touch all these years with my kids and me even after we moved to Texas.  Jeanie opened up a ceramics store and asked me to set up books for her and she would give me free greenware and would fire my things for free in exchange.   As time pasted I bought a used  kiln from her.  In Texas I developed a unique technique and was asked by the Dallas World Trade Center to show my pieces there and was in and on covers of magazines.  My husband died 7 years after we moved.  Ceramics became the way I supported myself when he passed away.  Little did Jeanie know in her kindness of teaching me how to do ceramics,  she was teaching me a trade that would be the very thing that kept me going  as a young widow. I am forever grateful for her loving, kind, giving spirit toward me!  I will always remember you Jeanie!  Without you I would not have had a way to support myself!  I shall miss all our talks on the porch swing!  I loved you then and I love you today,  prayers for Gary and the family.

I was honored to be a part of this family for many years. She was a beautiful soul like her daughters and grandchild. Prayers to family for peace and love. You were blessed to have such a beautiful soul in your life and now looking over all of you! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful soul with me! 

I had the honor of working with Jeanie for about 8 years. She was a very beautiful, fun, loving person. We had many laughs together and also shared some tears. Not only did we work together, but she was like my second mom. She helped me with crafts, came to me if I needed help, and introduced me to a wonderful family. I was blessed to spend time with her and the family during this difficult time and I love each and everyone of them. Jeanie will be greatly missed. I pray that God will give them peace and healing.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Irma Christmas,
2 sons Jimmy and Billy, and her sister Betty.She is survived by her husband of 45 years Gary Ames,
her daughter's Cindy (Mike), Christy (Jamie),
grandchildren James (Joanna), Eric (Molly), Tina (Alan), Christopher, Rachel (TJ),
great grandchildren Grace, Bailey, Cami, Brody, Rylan, Noah, and Cal.
She is also survived by her sister Jo Alexander,
her best friend Judy, and several other family members.
