Born on January 7, 2004, to his parents, Brandi Burk and Michael Martinez, Izaiah was a beacon of joy and laughter to all who knew him. He grew up alongside his loving sisters, Angelina and Giana. From a young age, Izaiah’s heart belonged to the outdoors—he loved fishing, exploring, and finding peace in nature’s quiet moments.
At 16, Izaiah met the love of his life, Kailany Anais Reyes Serrano, who stood faithfully by his side through every challenge. Though his life was marked by medical struggles, Izaiah faced each day with courage, a radiant smile, and an unshakable sense of humor. He was the kind of person who could take a joke just as well as he gave one—a playful spirit who loved to stir the pot just to hear people laugh. His lighthearted mischief and contagious laughter lit up every room he entered.
Izaiah is preceded in death by his grandparents, Patty Heiserman and Kenneth Burk; his father, Michael Martinez; and his brother, Anthony Martinez. He is survived by his devoted mother, Brandi; his sisters, Angelina and Giana; his unborn niece; his beloved Kailany; and his loyal companion, Buddy. He is also survived by extended family and countless friends whose lives were forever touched by his presence.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate doctors, nurses, and staff at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora. For years, they stood by Izaiah with unwavering dedication—offering not only exceptional medical care, but also hope, compassion, and genuine kindness through every stage of his journey. Their commitment left a lasting impact on Izaiah’s life and on all of us who loved him.
Izaiah’s life, though far too short, was a powerful testament to resilience, love, and humor in the face of adversity. His laughter, teasing, and unforgettable spirit will echo in the hearts of all who had the joy of knowing him.
A service to honor Izaiah's life will be held Friday, August 22, 2025 at 10:00a.m. in Mineral Palace Park.
