Jean Martinez

Jean Martinez, 85 passed away April 12, 2020. Preceded in death by both parents Demetrio Jaramillo and Carlota Vigil, Husband Pete Martinez and Daughter Joyce Lujan. She is survived by her sister Inez (Tito) Quinones, Daughters Rose Monteith and Joann Arellano, Sons Harold (Christine) Monteith, Jerry (Agnes) Monteith and Robert (Roseanne) Monteith. Jean raised six children, as a single mother, while putting herself through nursing school, which resulted in her very large, extended family. Deeply loved by all her grandchildren; David (Bernice) Monteith, Sandra (Abel) Valero, James (Jennifer) Monteith, Jennifer (Nathan) Salazar, Melissa Chavez, Christina (Alex) Chavez, JJ (Rebekah) Monteith, Kelly Monteith, Jackie Monteith, Joey Monteith, Noah Monteith, Andrew Monteith, Ashely Monteith, Destiny Arellano. She loved playing with and spoiling her great grandkids; Joshua & Devin Monteith, Arika & Aundrea Valero, Jessica & Ryan Halpin, Brandon McIntosh & James Jr Monteith, Adrianna Chavez, Izabella and Mya Salazar, Angelique & Aaron Medina, Zayne Monteith, Avery Monteith and Emilio Arellano. In the past few years, the light of her eyes were the newest babies in her family, her Great Great Grandkids; Drelyn, Aubrie & Tarianna. When she saw the babies, she just wanted to hold onto them and never let go! Jean enjoyed visiting with all of her family, sisters, brothers and many nieces and nephews. As Jean’s disease began to progress, her daughter Rose Monteith began to care for her and continued her loving care, for 20 years and was by her side when she took her last breath. The family will be eternally grateful for her sacrifice and giving her the best care she could have possibly received. Jean loved all of her family, who loved her the same and she will be deeply missed.
