Jeanette Hiza

Jeanette, “Jean,” Cortese Hiza, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 23, 2014. She is survived by her husband, Stephen K. Hiza, daughters and sons-in-law; Frances and David Gallaher, Mary Lee and David Lobato, Jeanne and David Feamster; grandchildren, David Stephen (Courtney Ferry), Michael and Katherine Gallaher, Grace Marie and Mary Theresa Lobato, and Samuel and Joseph Feamster; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Cortese and Kathleen (John) Starcevich, Aunt Regina Falletta, very special cousins, Vera and Donald Brooks, many nieces, nephews and Cortese and Falletta cousins. She made special friends through the TOPS Club. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Lena Cortese, in-laws Stephen M. and Frances Hiza and brother, Charles A. Cortese. Jean was the center of her family, and they were the center of her life. She chose to do simple things in a graceful and dignified manner. A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church on Monday, January 27, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Please omit food and flowers.
