John Fredrick Dorrell slipped away peacefully, March 30, 2017 at age 99. He was born August 20, 1917, in Denver Colorado, to parents John Henry and Gertrude M. Dorrell; both preceded him in death along with his two siblings Gladys and Helen and his beautiful wife Edna. John and Edna were blessed with one child, son Kimothy J. Dorrell. John is survived by Kimothy (Sheryl) and one grandson Kyle John Dorrell, all of Pueblo. Also surviving John are nieces and a nephew, extended family and friends. John retired from the US Postal service as a postal unit technician with 37 and a half years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army/Army Air Force. He was an avid Broncos fan. The family wants to thank Dr. James Stjernholm, Sangre De Cristo Hospice, and Hildebrand Home Care for their care. John will be greatly missed by family and friends. There will not be a viewing. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 10th at 2pm in the Imperial Funeral Home Chapel with Burial to Follow at Imperial Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow the burial in the Imperial Hall. In lieu of flowers or food, please give donations to the American Legion or Sangre De Cristo Hospice.
