Hard to believe that one of Pueblo's biggest personalities is gone.
 I remember working on his Limos as a youth and cruising around like a big shot. He'd always ask me: what happen to all my gas, Cuz!?

There will always be a thankful place in my heart for knowing Corky. Other than growing up with Patty and Pam It seems like I have always known him and for some reason have always ended up either working for him, working with him or just doing something that brought us together. His had a quiet kindness. He always made a point to say something nice , do something nice or just be behind the smile that reminded you that he was your friend. When my son was very young he had the shoe king and I had to quit shopping there because Corky would not charge me or charge correctly for shoes. He always said it was an investment in my sons career and he would like to be his agent when he went pro. We always had a good laugh. We had an on going contest of who could pay for a meal on the sly and I am sure to spite my best efforts I am now forever behind. He sent tables, chairs and tents to my Mom when my Dad died had them set up and taken down never a fee just a wish that it helped, the same with My Mother in law's funeral at my home and also graduation for my son. Many times I saw acts of kindness he just quietly did without needing anything in return.His fireworks were always a part of Pueblo,  he gave away more than anyone ever could count and all his other business interests could fill a book with tales and lessons.He treated my husband like family from day one and they could pass the time talking about old cars and hot rods at the drop of a hat. He was so proud of his girls and  family and was always happy to share a new joy in life. Please know Jim, Branden and I are truly sorry for your loss.



When I was in my senior year at Central High School, I got a part time job selling shoes at Sears in the midtown shopping center.  That was 1959 and I worked for Johnnie who was manager of the shoe department.  He was a great role model for me, very soft spoken with a gentle sales approach who could sell anybody anything.  So suave and convincing that he one year got salesman of the year at Sears.  I admired him and he taught me so much.  Later in life when I moved to San Francisco, CA, I got a job selling slippers in the shoe department at Sears there...that store had the first escalator I had ever seen.  It was just a part time job that ended at Christmas, but I drew on my experiences working for Johnnie.  I have such good memories of him and I know his family is going through a difficult time right now.  I and my family are praying that God will comfort you at this time and give you His Peace that passeth all understanding.  I will always remember Johnnie as a great guy who had a very positive impact on my life. 

I always found John to be kind and generous man. He treated his friends like family and I will never forget his generosity in helping with my daughter’s wedding reception. God bless John.

To the Musso family,
 So sorry hear about John's passing. I've known him for a long time and used to work on his cars. Especially the old Cad limos. 
 John was a social and enigmatic character and you couldn't help but love the guy. Throughout his long rivalry with the City, he held tough and he never let them beat his spirit. In that we definitely shared a kinship.
  If there is anything I can do, especially helping with the cars, please let me know.

Hey Cuz!

You said last week we'd have lunch soon. I never thought that would be the last time I spoke with you.

I am sorry I'll be missing your service on Monday. I have to be out of state on a long-planned trip.

To say you had an interesting life would be an understatement. Through it all, you were my friend and I yours. We went through a lot of tough times together -- a fair amount of it self-inflicted -- but you always were there and I hope I was, too.

I am sure your devotion to St. Jude will help you and I am likewise sure that the good Lord will say, "Well, things here just got a lot more interesting," when he sees you drive through the gates in a '67 Caddy.

In all seriousness, I will miss our lunches, our phone calls, our conspiring, our friendship. Sincere condolences to your family.

Cuz, I hope to see you again in the future. I believe that to be the case.
