I worked with John for almost 9 years, prior to my current position it was just the two of us every Saturday.  John said very little about himself, what he talked about most was first his daughters, teaching, a little about Vegas, but mostly he listened to me babble. I think deep down myself being one of four daughters with a very distant father I adopted John as a surrogate father. Like everyone who knew him I respected John more than almost anyone else. 
The first year I took my current position as supervisor, something I did not feel comfortable with but at the time the only option, he was very supportive. He hated doing client surveys but that year to make me look good and to help me out, he was on it .  I always knew when he did not like a decision I made, he would give me a look and be very quiet. He would eventually come around because he knew he only wanted to see the good in people but that I had to address the demon known as substance abuse.  John was a beautiful soul with the biggest heart. He was a calming presence,  when clients were upset and acting out he could calm them down. I think they just did not want to disappoint him. John Panion you will be missed more than you know. We are redoing the clinic the waiting area will now be known as the John Panion Reception Room. 


I had the privilege of studying the bible with John for the previous 5 years. It was truly a joy. He had outstanding qualities was very loving, kind, considerate, and compassionate, as well as honest. I spoke with him last week and he told me he was rest and very tired. I told him that I loved him and that he remained in my prayers. I studied with him and we considered why we die, and the wonderful hope of the resurrection. Who could better speak on the matter than Jesus himself ?, being dead for 3 days and soon being resurrected by his father. What a wonderful hope we have in the resurrection ! John 5:28,29. May the God of all comfort be with the family. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. We look to the time, not like now, were we have tears of sadness, but in the near future were we have tears of gladness as we welcome back our loved ones. My prayers and thoughts are with the family.  

I would like to express my deepest and sincere condolences to the John Panion family on your loss.  I remember Mr. Panion from Pitts middle school back in the 70's. Although I only had him for a teacher for 2 semesters he always acknowledged me outside the class room as well as when I was in his class. After I graduated high school and was working at the south side Kmart he remembered me when he came in the store and we could talk even if just for a minute. Sending thoughts and prayers.

Carol and I send our condolences and love to the entire family. You can tell the nature of John's character by the loving family that he raised. 

To Kim and the Panion family. I'm very sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

It was my pleasure to work with John for 6 years at Crossroads. He was a wonderful man with such a big heart ❤️ I enjoyed our talks and his many words of wisdom. I had fun trying to teach him about computers! He didn’t even have a cell phone!! Who doesn’t have a cell phone?!? We shared a love for Las Vegas and gambling during football season. I have many fond memories that I will keep with me always.  RIP John! You will be missed. The Flamingo won’t be the same without you😢

All is Well
I just want to tell you that all is well.
 How can I know all is well when you just lost Your Dad, Your Brother, Your Love and your friend?
That all is well when you can’t imagine tomorrow?
That your whole world has just changed
and the person you had so enjoyed on is no longer there?
I know this to be true… God will take care of you.
All is well because you have the One who is in control.
All is well because you have a Deliverer
 who will give you peace and deliver you out of darkness.
All is well because "He will never leave you or forsake you."
All is well because you have the One who knows what was,
 what is and what is to come.
All is well because "Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the World"
All is well because He knows so and has said so:
Isaiah 3:10 "Tell the righteous it will be well with them."
2 King 5:22 "Everything is all right."
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11)
 All is well because He lives and has welcomed John home.
 You see, The Master himself – God will sustain you through all the pain of today and bring joy tomorrow.  All is Well. You will meet again.  Peace will go with you.

Those left to cherish John's memory forever are his best friend and wife, Anna Jean Ciruli; daughters, Julia (James) Thomas, Kimberly (Spencer) Nakaguma, Colleen (Ron) Brauer, Suzanne (Don) Tack; ten grandchildren, Brandie Hernandez, Cortnie (Curtis) Fitzsimmons, Joshua (Natalie) Windon, Whitnie Panion, Jamee Windon, Tiawna (Joel) Moffitt, Khannah (Mark) Ditkof, Jonna Windon, Levi Cruz, Quincy Nakaguma; ten great-grandchildren; and one due in December.  Also survived and adored by Donna Delellis, Jonny (Yvonne) Venuto, Deann (Mark) Stinchcomb; his brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Lynda Panion, Bob and Gina Panion; and sister, Barbara Hemrick; numerous nieces, nephews, wonderful friends and neighbors.
