

Joseph Victor Barbari, 73, passed away August 21, 2015. He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. He served in the Army from 1962-1964 in the Chemical Corp. He moved to Pueblo West in 1968 where he became a firefighter in Pueblo West. He continued his career at the TTCI where he started on the fire department, then moved to Hazmat Instructor where he worked for 27 years. He was known throughout the US and Canada for all he taught to First Responders. He loved to fish and boat at the Pueblo Reservoir and also enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Agnes Barbari, and his brother Richard. He leaves behind his wife Barbara of 39 years; daughter JoJo (Matthew) Valdez; sons Lewis Barbari and Gino Barbari; grandchildren, Athena and Matteo Valdez; sisters, Rose Ann Barbari, Delores (Bob) Burkholder; sisters-in-law Sandy Barbari and Laura (Jim) Rutan; nieces Monica (Jerry) Peterson and KB (Nathan) Schatz; nephew Rick (Lisa) Barbari, 5 grand-nieces and 1 grand-nephew.
