

Kriss Marie Prado, 69 years old of Pueblo, CO, sadly left us on December 25, 2023 with family by her side in Aurora, CO following a chronic back infection leading to sepsis. Kriss was born in Pueblo, CO on November 2, 1954 to Ruth and Leonard Barnhart, who both preceded her in death along with her brother Phillip Barnhart, and late husband Earl Prado. Survived by her brother Ron Barnhart and sister Cindy (Rick) Nidey, son’s Jason Reed and Ross (Kim) Reed, Grandchildren Jaeley and Preston Reed and numerous nieces and nephews. She began her career as an RN in the late 80’s working at the Colorado State Mental Health Hospital. After an injury in the early 90’s she left CMHIP. She was then given the opportunity to be a nursing director at a local assisted living home, which then lead to the opportunity of becoming the executive nursing director/partnership owner of other assisted living homes in Pueblo and Colorado Springs. She retired March 2023. Kriss was a strong advocate for the mentally ill and veterans with mental illnesses. She was a strong and independent women who never let any obstacles get in her way. She lived life to the fullest and never looked back. She enjoyed playing piano, golfing, and most of all sewing, quilting, taking long rides on her Harley and spending time with family and friends. She was a women that always put others before herself and never expected anything in return. We know she is standing tall and pain free dancing to Elvis with her late childhood friends Sharon Sager and Cindy Rhueff.
A memorial service for Kriss will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Imperial Funeral Home, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, Colorado 81005. Following the memorial service will be an interment following service at Imperial Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, Colorado 81005.
