Loretta Louise Zeman

Mom was born to our grandparents Maurice and Gertrude Ervin on Halloween Day, 1944 in La Junta, Colorado. She peacefully passed away on Monday, August 4th, 2025 under the quality care of Joni Fair Hospice House.

Her siblings in order of birth included Theresa, Larry, Raymond, and Marie Ervin, along with Charles and Patrick Briggs. Her children included Michael Ervin, Laura and Paul Grills, Alan, David and Joseph Zeman. She was especially fond of Miriam Rivera and her grandchildren Kendra and Michael Junior.

Mom was characterized as loving, giving, thoughtful, resolute and highly opinionated. Rarely did she refrain from offering her opinion.

She graduated from the University of Southern Colorado in 1987 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, having faithfully served the public for nearly 30 years.

Loretta loved sports and instilled us with an exceptional love of the Denver Broncos, the Olympics and tennis. She loved music and loved to sing out loud. As children she would encourage us to sing along to Lemon Tree and Puff the Magic Dragon.

We will always keep you in our hearts and in our fondest memories. Forever yours from your loved ones.
