Lyn was a beloved mother and grandmother who spent her life surrounded by those who loved her. Lyn Marie Bennett, 69, of Pueblo, CO passed away on May 25, 2025.
Lyn was born in Aguilar, CO on January 29, 1956 to Vincent James and Madilyn Federico, who adored and cherished her. A wild child, Lyn was the youngest of four siblings and spent her childhood running the streets of Aguilar with childhood best friends stirring up the kinds of trouble only small town kids could. Lyn loved Aguilar and often reminisced on her childhood there regaling us with stories of the life she lived in her favorite town.
Lyn always wanted to be a mother, doting on her daughters any chance she could. A proud mother of three, Lyn’s children meant the world to her and she to them. The four of them grew up together, learning from and leaning on each other every step of the way. From chasing after them to watching them become mothers themselves, Lyn was always near to offer some motherly advice, a big hug, or a good smack with a wooden spoon.
As a grandmother Lyn embodied one of her favorite characters, Mary Poppins, always encouraging us to use our imaginations and to be kind to others. We will always appreciate her insistence to take photos with us at every holiday, and will now cherish them forever. She treasured her time with her grandchildren and loved being our Nana.
Lyn will always be remembered for her kind heart and unfathomable memory, never forgetting the birthdays of nearly everyone she knew. We will always remember her using the sign language “I love you” to remind us of how much love she had to give and ending a text with at least 10 emojis. We couldn’t have asked for a better mother and grandmother, and we will miss Lyn dearly every day. She will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Lyn was preceded in death by her mother Madilyn, father Jim, daughter Tanya, sister Janena, and best friend Karen. She is survived by her daughters Lynnette, Mariah, and Bridget (Josh), grandchildren Rilee, Triston, Taya, and Mackenzie, and her two older brothers James (Nancy) and Jon Paul (Kristine).
Memorial services will be held June 21st from 1-3 pm at Lake Avenue Community Church, 1345 Lake Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004.
