

Mary Sue Bolton passed away at age 98 on November 25, 2025 in Pueblo, Colorado. She was born on January 21, 1927 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Glenn and Toxie Green. She graduated high school in Altus, Oklahoma and attended college at Abilene Christian College and The University of Oklahoma. She married James M. Bolton on October 31, 1947 and they moved to Pueblo, Colorado in 1948. She was an active member of the Broadway and Orman Church of Christ (later Christ’s Church in Pueblo West) from 1948 until her death. She served as church secretary, Bible School teacher, small group leader, and served as an Elder’s wife from 1967 until 2007 alongside her husband. She was on KRDO radio and on Channel 5 TV for 16 years singing in the church choir. She directed the church choir at weddings and funerals for 30 years. Mary Sue owned and ran the first bookstore in Pueblo, (Bolton’s Books) from 1954-1976; starting in Andy’s bedroom and moving to the Mesa Junction. Her hobbies included reading, telling jokes, crossword puzzles, and being with friends. She loved people and frequently visited church members who were hospitalized or in nursing homes. Friends with an illness could count on a caring visit from Mary Sue. She was well-known as a good listener and brilliant conversationalist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Bolton, and her daughter Amy Sue Holzrichter. She is survived by her son Andrew (Kim) Bolton, Son-in-Law Tim Holzrichter, her Sister-in-Law Janice Bolton, nephews Jim (Donna) Reynolds, Mark (Susan) Reynolds, Brent Bolton. and her nieces Betty (Richard) Todd, Brenda (Craig) Trimble, and Barbara (Roch) Larocca. Her Celebration of Life is January 7, 2026 at 11am in the Imperial Gardens Chapel.
