Mary Dudley

Mary Louise (Skufca) Dudley, lifelong resident of Pueblo, died on Nov. 21, 2012. Mary was born Jan. 19, 1923, to the late Mary (Zemljak) and Martin Skufca. She was preceded in death by a brother, Martin J. "Teeny" Skufca; and is survived by her brother, Joseph R. Skufca, of Pueblo. In addition to her brother, Mary leaves her much-loved sons, Donald M. Dudley (Mary) of Pomfret, Conn., and David Q. Dudley (Margie) of Pueblo. She also leaves four cherished grandchildren, Maura K. Dudley of Redwood City, Calif., Michael D. Dudley (Abby) of Overland Park, Kan., Leah E. Dudley of Chicago, Ill., and Matthew Q. Dudley of Greeley, Colo. Mary graduated from Pueblo Central High School. She was an independent woman who lived a rewarding life. She was devoted to her family and loyal to countless friends established in school and through her sorority. She especially enjoyed interacting with colleagues and customers while working at Sears and the USC bookstore. Mary had a special fondness for dogs. She was a music lover, avid baseball fan and skilled creator of Slovenian potica. Mary was an enthusiastic traveler, proud to have visited all but one of the United States and many destinations outside the U.S., including Slovenia, the Soviet Union, China and several African countries.
