

Max J. Apodaca Jr. (Jay) loving husband to Theresa and adoring father to Brian and Michelle was called home in the early hours of December 17, 2021, after a courageous battle with diabetes. Max was born in 1948 in Pueblo, Colorado to Max Apodaca Sr. and Vera Diaz-Apodaca. He grew up surrounded by his two
brothers Kenny and Ted Apodaca and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Max was influenced by his family to be a loving and caring man, always giving time to others with a smile on his face.
Max graduated from South High School in 1966 where he was known as a well accomplished athlete. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to cook, was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, and enjoyed all his world travels. His love for cooking inspired his career which included working for Sam & Ray’s Pizza, Little Caesar’s Pizza, and retiring as a cook from the Colorado State Hospital. Waiting at the Heavenly Gates are his parents Max and Vera, his in-laws Amande and Matilda Aragon, his god daughter Melissa Noel Westmoreland, grandparents, and many of his aunts, uncles, and cousins that he loved so dearly. Leaving to cherish his memories are Theresa (Tracy) Apodaca his loving wife of 51 years. His children Brian (Caroline), Michelle (Mike). His grandchildren Cole, Chase, Valente, and Shelby. His brothers Kenny and Ted and his in-laws Mary Aragon, Wilma (Richard) Marez, Elizabeth Westmoreland, and Julian Perez. As
well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Max will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
The family kindly requests that masks be worn during the service. The funeral reception will be held at a later date due to Covid-19 restrictions.
