Nancy Jean Lest, 89, peacefully passed away on December 12, 2025, at Cappella Assisted Living in Pueblo West, Colorado. Born on November 19, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio, Nancy was a healer, teacher, artist, and lover of nature and animals. She worked in the healthcare field for almost 50 years as a registered nurse in Cleveland at Huron Road Hospital and then in Pueblo at St. Mary Corwin Hospital, Home Healthcare of Colorado, Villa Pueblo, and Colorado Mental Health Institute. She also worked for John Bagale, MD, Robert Drake, MD, Elizabeth Garcia, MD, Barry Rapp, MD, and Kevin Sullivan, MD. Nancy was a CNA instructor at Pueblo Community College and the Manager of Education at Westwind Campus of Care. In addition, she was a hospice caregiver, massage therapist, healing touch practitioner, and home healthcare foot specialist. Caring for people and animals was her passion and her calling in life. In her many years of service, she positively impacted lives not only in Cleveland and Pueblo, but she also frequently traveled to La Veta and Cuchara to care for patients.
Nancy loved spending time with family, friends, and animals, especially dogs and horses. She enjoyed anything involving nature: trips to the mountains, hiking, camping, gardening, painting gorgeous watercolor landscapes, and flower arranging. She was skilled at knitting, crocheting, and various other arts and crafts. Also, she was very involved in Girl Scouts and served as a leader and camp nurse.
During her life, Nancy experienced many hardships, but she was resilient, strong, and loving through it all. She was an empathetic, caring, kind, loyal, and compassionate person – a beautiful soul who touched many lives, and her family and friends are grateful and fortunate to have been a part of her life. She will be greatly missed, but it is comforting to know she is finally at peace and reunited with John, her beloved husband.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Frances McNamara, and her husband, John Lest. She is survived by her children, Ann Marie Webb, Jean Boerner (Jack), Michael Trivisonno (Cheryl), Mark Trivisonno (Heidi), John Trivisonno (Pam), and Mary Winterrowd (Matt); grandchildren, Brian Webb, Tony Webb, Violet Webb, Heather Shaw, Melissa Zeck, Ross Trivisonno, Jonathan Trivisonno, Kaylin Trivisonno, Gianni Trivisonno, Tyler Seeley, Tanner Seeley, Sophie Seeley, and Shelby Seeley; sister, Joan Sauer; sister-in-law, Diane Eurich (Rich); brother-in-law, Dick Lest (Betty); and several great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and good friends.
The family would like to thank Cappella Assisted Living and Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful, compassionate care they provided during the last few years of Nancy’s life.
Nancy’s family and friends celebrated her life at a memorial service that took place on December 20, 2025, at Cappella. Another celebration of life for family and friends, as well as a private graveside service, will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Nancy’s memory to PAWS for Life Animal Welfare & Protection Society, https://pawspueblo.org/
