Neva “Nani” LoPresti, 84, of Pueblo passed away Dec. 14, 2020. She was born Aug. 6, 1936, to Ernest and Edith Crawford in Sedan, Kan. and moved to Pueblo in 1950. There she met the love of her life, Joe LoPresti, and they married Feb. 4, 1956. They began their family and soon transitioned to the life of farming. Neva was happiest with her family around her and often spoke of things most important to her: “The Four Fs” of Family, Faith, Friends and Food. She loved her life on the farm and was regularly seen on a tractor or in the field with her family. Neva had a generous heart and regularly donated her time and treasure to numerous boards, charities, area churches, schools and her community. One of her great joys was delivering meals for the Meals on Wheels Program. She never met a stranger and everyone she met was treated like her best friend. She told stories of her times as a “room mother” supporting her children while having a great time laughing and baking with friends.
Neva is survived by her children, Joe (Therasa), Diane, John, Jim, Debbie and Jeff; grandchildren Aaron, Krista, Jessica, Melissa, Nicole, James, T.J. (McCall) and Bailey; great-grandson, Victor; sisters Melva (Claud) Ketterman and Betty (Frank) McMurrey; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and “adopted family.” She was proceeded in death by her parents Ernest and Edith Crawford; loving husband, Joe; brothers Norman, Kenneth, Don and David.
The funeral Mass will be for immediate family only. There will be a graveside burial service for family and friends at 11:30 a.m. MT on Monday, Dec. 21 at Imperial Memorial Gardens. Gathering together helps us move from crying to laughing. We look forward to a time very soon when we can get together to tell some stories, shed a few tears, laugh so hard we cry some more and then raise a glass to celebrate a life well-lived. The funeral Mass will be livestreamed at 10 a.m. on Dec. 21, via the St. Joseph Facebook page for those who cannot attend. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and care givers for the tender care they provided Mom. Contributions can be made in Neva’s memory to her beloved church of over 60 years, St. Therese Catholic Church in Vineland.
