June 25, 1919 - July 30, 2013
Nora Rodriguez, 94, of Pueblo, CO, went to heaven on July 30, 2013, due to complications of a stroke. She is preceded in death by her husband, Pedro, of 62 years; sons, Jim, Sam, and Francisco. Nora is survived by five daughters, Angela Garza, Juanita Garza, Margaret Farmer, Maria Rodriguez, and Shirley Rodriguez; and five sons, Agapito Rodriguez, Thomas Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez, Fred Rodriguez, and Michael Rodriguez. She is also survived by 49 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Nora Martinez married Pedro Rodriguez in 1935 in Bryan, Texas. They lived in Texas for several years until moving to Pueblo, Colorado, in 1952, where they made their home together. They raised 13 children, many of whom still live in Pueblo.
Nora was a lifelong Catholic, and often walked to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Mass in her earlier years. She was a joyful woman, full of love and compassion. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting; and always had a hand-made treasure for one of her family members. She also loved to garden. Nora grew some the most beautiful flowers anyone had ever seen; she truly had a green thumb. Above all, her family was first and foremost in her life.
Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend; she will be sincerely missed by all. She was a great woman of faith, and there is no reservation in our hearts that she is in Heaven with our Lord.
Public viewing will be 2-5 p.m., Thursday, August 1, at Adrian-Comer Garden Chapel, with Vigil Rosary directly to follow at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m., Friday, August 2, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Pueblo, CO, with interment at Imperial Memorial Gardens, Pueblo, CO.
