

Nora Joan White, 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday Sept. 23, 2025. She was born August 20, 1934. The daughter of Robert Turner and Bessie Forester Turner. Most of her family and friends called her Joanie.
Nora was a lifetime resident of Pueblo, Colorado and she was one of the longest living widows of CF&I.
Nora married Benny Jessie White, Sr. Nov. 3, 1951 in Pueblo, Colorado. Together they had five children. One daughter Cyndra Kenyon-Smith, Williamsburg, Va. Four sons Charles White, Pueblo, Colorado, Benny Jessie White, Jr. (Linda) Tacoma, Washington, Daniel Leroy White and partner (Antonia) Pueblo, Colorado, George White (Terri) Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Nora worked as a health care giver for the elderly in their homes. She had a passion for writing and was successful at writing a book and also wrote several articles in the Pueblo Chieftain.
Nora enjoyed reading the bible and attended churches in the Pueblo area. She loved to sing at church and at nursing homes and was a woman of faith. Nora's peanut brittle was a family Christmas favorite and was enjoyed by all and she also found beauty in the mountains with her family and friends.
Nora had six grandchildren. Shannon Stallman-Easter, James Kenyon, Abraham White, Phil White, Amanda Miller and Heather Byrd.
She had four great grandchildren. Amber Stallman-Case, Katlyn Kenyon, Savanah Kenyon, Emma White and one great-great grandchild Dakota Kenyon.
Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Nephew Stephen Laird (Kathleen) and daughter In-law Valerie Rogers and a very special sister in-law Charlene Turner.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Bessie Turner. Her husband Benny Jessie White, Sr. Two sons Benny Jessie White, Jr. and Charles White. Sisters Telia Joy Hogan, Vivian Belknap, Carol Towns-Laird-Stratton. Brothers Larry Turner, Ross Turner and Robert Turner, Jr. Two son in-laws Clarence Smith and Joseph Kenyon. Two daughter in-laws Francis Spoon-White and Cheri Hancock-White.
Graveside services were held Friday Sept. 26, 2025 at 2pm at Imperial Gardens Funeral Home, Pueblo, Colorado.
She will be remembered with love and greatly missed by all who knew her.
