Frank, Pat, Gerald and Paul, sorry to hear about your loss.  Mr Gomez always brought out the best in all of us and  had such a positive impact on so many people. He will be missed.

My condolences to the Gomez family.  I have so many fond memories of your father during my time at Risley.  I quickly learned and appreciated the role Pat played on the Eastside and at Risley in particular.  I valued greatly his friendship and support making my experience the very best. He gave so much to his "kids".  He loved them all and did all he could for them. Pueblo has lost a great man who did not want for much and was always willing to help our youth. My prayers are with you.

To the Gomez Family:

Pat was a great man, who set a great example for many kids over many years. He taught us fundamentals, he taught toughness, but mostly he taught us to be accountable to one another and to smile and have fun. Thanks to all of you who helped him mold young men, and for sharing your dad with us.

Pat Gomez was more than a coach to myself and many of my friends, he taught us about teamwork and accountability.   I will always remember how tough he could be, but I couldn't wait to see him at practice or games.  Win or lose he was always there and he made sure we had fun along the way!  My thoughts and prayers are with his family!  One more time - thank you Coach Gomez!

Mr Gomez was a great inspiration to me and alot of kids growing up on the East Side. He taught me alot about football and basketball as well as life. I will always remember him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Truly a great coach, he molded the most unruly bunch of misfits into some pretty good teams that could play ball with anyone in the state. A people person that never met a stranger, he made you feel like a winner on and off the field. You will be missed Sticker, but you will not be forgotten.

To the Gomez family - you are in the thoughts and prayers of the Dent family.  I have spoken with several of my siblings and all were saddened by, and sorry for your loss.  I will never forget playing football and basketball for coach Gomez.  No matter how loud a gym got or how far away from him you got on a football field when he yelled at you in that deep booming voice it got your attention in a hurry.  Brings a smile to my face.  He will be missed.  Sorry for your loss.

My deepest, deepest sympathies to all of the Gomez family! What a guy! Mr. Gomez, (who earned the salutation MR.) truly impacted my life! Looking back, he held us accountable for everything we did while playing softball and football in the East Side, and this lesson stuck with me. I enjoyed all of the days and nights at ballfields with the Gomez family, whether El Rey, Giadones, or Bessemer park! We had fun chasing "nickle balls". My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Frank, Pat, Gerald and Paul. I am deeply saddened for the loss of your father. The man  my friends and I affectionately called, "Stickerhead" for the crew cut he wore when he coached our football team in the 8th grade. He was always tough but fair, everyone was a friend, nobody was a stranger. He touched a lot of lives and made them better.

What a fantastic Man.  I will miss you. You were like a Dad to me. Always, with that crazy "Hearty" Gomez laugh.  You all  know what I'm talking about. Growing up next door to Mr. Gomez was never easy. Back in the day, he would tell me he named his dog after me. In time, I realized that Mr. Gomez was a more than my friend's dad he was one of the neighborhood dad's. He always would give me a hard time and now I realize it was in good fun. I'll miss telling  Mr. Gomez "hi honey!" when I drive up to my parents house.

Mr.Gomez was always there to ump those afternoon fast pitch softball games.

As a young man playing football and basketball at St. Leanders for Mr. Gomez in the mid-70s, I learned not only the value of game preparation and execution, but the value of being part of a team with common goals.   His smile was infectous and his trademark "heh-heh laugh" was contagious.   Pat and his sons Frank and Gerald were a large part of my formative years, and Mr. Gomez will be truly missed.   My condolences to the Gomez family.

Frank, your dad was one of the best people I have ever known. Always friendly and smiling and would give you the shirt off his back. I have many great memories of our youth and how wonderful your dad and mom were.

To the Gomez Family - Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. Some of the most memorable middle school experiences, both in athletics (driving the old chevy to football games far and wide) and being pulled by the nap of my neck hair back to class were had with Coach. Life lessons taught "old school" with respect both deserved and earned. A good man, a great life teacher, and a pretty darn good coach. His memory will forever be with me. Pueblo has lost one of the greatest coaches and a friend to all.  His smile and laugh made him memorable but his love and care for kids and athletics was second to none.
