

Born March 11, 1919 in Swink, CO to Alberta Wright-Mitchell and Bennie K. Mitchell
Preceded in death by: Parents, Sister Virginia Mitchell-Bryan and Son, Frank Mitchell.
Survived by: Wife, Opal White-Mitchell, Daughter, Judy Mitchell-Morris, Granddaughters Cami Sigler-Goble of Sierra Leone, West Africa and Christin Sigler of Albuquerque, Great Grand-daughter Alicia Marie Nickus of Las Cruses, NM, Nephew Douglas Bryan of Springfield, MO and Niece Ann Bryan of Omaha, NE.
Ralph attended Centennial High School and lived in Pueblo all of his life.
He proudly served 3 years in the US Army’s Transportation Corps/Railroad battalion in Europe during World War II. Upon his return to the US he had the honor of serving for the War Bond Campaign in Washington, DC.
He married Opal May White of Greenville, Ohio in April, 1946.
Ralph was employed by the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad for 45 years, retiring in 1982.
He served as an officer in the Rio Grande Veteran’s Club for many years.
As an active, charter member of Faith United Methodist Church he was Chairman of the Board of Directors for 6 years.
Ralph enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing, as well as traveling the US with his family.
Along with his wife, Opal, he was a care-giver for many years to their son, Frank, who had Multiple Sclerosis.
Even when Ralph could no longer drive, he was faithful in visiting and advocating for Frank at the Lifecare Center of Pueblo.
