Born and raised in Silverton, Colorado, Carol came from a family of music lovers. Her father and brothers had a band. One day her father told her brother Roy to teach her how to play the drums and so it began. Not only did she play the drums but she could sing. She had such a beautiful and powerful voice. She was most often compared to Patsy Cline. She met Raymond Harvey, the love of her life, in Golden, Colorado. Raymond being a stranger from out of town, it was no wonder, during that time, that her family was hesitant to accept their relationship. One night she and her siblings were playing a gig at a local bar and to let her brothers know Raymond was the one for her she sang “Right or Wrong” by Wanda Jackson just for him. It had such and impact that Carol would comment “they all swung their heads around in shock with their eyebrows up ”. In retelling this story Raymond would always tear up and say, “When she sang that song to me, I knew... she chose me...she chose me”.
Carol and Raymond married on February 9, 1974 and started their family. In May of 2002 they moved into their new home in Pueblo West, Colorado and created so many wonderful memories. They were married 51 years and had 7 children, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and counting. While she did work various jobs throughout her life, her primary job was being a devoted wife and mother.
Carol is survived by her 7 children; Matthew Harvey, Daniel Harvey, Andrea Harvey, Renae (Doug) Luttmer, Nathan Harvey, Kathryn (John) Morison and David Harvey, 10 grandchildren; Gannon (Katherine) Harvey, Tarra Harvey, Nicole Harvey, Christopher Som, Cody Luttmer, Nicholas Luttmer, Phoebe Aldred, Shannun Harvey, Alliyah Harvey and Caden Harvey, 8 great grandchildren; Rowan Harvey, Orion Harvey, Addison Mossberger, Evelyn Mossberger, Oliver Harvey, Levian Dolve, Ryder Booth, and Ryker Scott, 2 Sisters-in-law; Adrian Baca and Priscilla Baca, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her close friends, of which they've been meeting once a month for over 25 years, John and Marta Sandoval, Marlene Walmer, and their newest member Johnny Gonzales.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 5 siblings: Filbert Baca, Felix Baca, Ray Baca, Irene Ayers and Roy Baca, and 1 grandchild; Carissa Harvey.
