Bob was born in Los Angeles on December 2nd, 1934, and was the youngest of nine children. In 1952, he met and fell in love with Diana. Early on, they realized that both of them loved musicals and music in general.
He served 2 years in the Army. One week after returning from Japan in 1955, Bob and Diana were married. They were married 68 ½ years and were blessed with four beautiful children: Deborah, Mark, Matthew, Christopher, and nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
He worked in Pest Control for 29 years, and served 10 years with the Los Angeles County Sheriff Reserved. He was a Cub Master and Boy Scout Leader for 8 years, and coached Little League.
In 1985, at age 50, Bob and Diana moved to Hawaii and shortly after, started Big Island pest Control. During many of those years, he worked alongside his wife, and some of his children, and grandchildren. He and Diana were the Marriage Encounter Coordinators for the Big Island for 25 years.
In November of 2019, they decided to move, and in June 2020, they closed the doors to Big Island Pest Control. They sold their homes and left their beautiful island and retired to Colorado, where Bob lived out his last 3 ½ years on the prairie and the mesa, while looking at the beautiful Rockies that he loved.
On his deathbed, he joked and posed for pictures while surrounded by his children and their spouses, and his oldest granddaughter, and even video chatted and took phone calls from many others. He drank tequila, while eating Dove dark chocolate, cocktail onions, Sumo oranges, and ice cream. His passions were his family, Marriage Encounter, tennis, football, coin collecting, and his beloved dogs. Bob had many close calls with death, but he had always come back stronger because God just wasn’t through with him.
On April 8, 2024, (which was the same date in April of 1954 that he had left Diana to go to Japan to serve in the Army) God told him it was time.
