EN EL CUIDADO DE

Imperial Memorial Gardens Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery

Thomas John Margison, a man of quiet strength and enduring kindness, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, at the age of 85. Surrounded by the family who meant everything to him, Tom left behind a legacy defined by hard work, a gentle spirit, and a lifelong devotion to those he loved.

A Life of Craft and Character

Born in Pueblo on April 1, 1940, to Thomas S. and Johanna Margison(Skul), Tom was raised on Santa Fe Road as a cherished only child. It was there he developed the soft-spoken demeanor and patient nature that would define his life.

Tom turned his natural aptitude for mechanics into a respected career. In 1986, he achieved a longtime dream by becoming the owner of Larry T’s Auto Repair. For thirty years, he was a fixture in the community, known not just for his "grease-under-the-fingernails" work ethic, but for a meticulous attention to detail that earned the trust of everyone who walked through his doors.

Simple Joys and Deep Roots

Outside of the shop, Tom found freedom and peace in motion—whether he was working on his motorcycles, casting a line while fishing, or the technical challenge of designing, building and flying remote-control airplanes. He was rarely without the companionship of a beloved dog, finding a unique kind of solace in their loyalty.

Above all, Tom was a family man. His devotion to his wife, children, and grandchildren was the quiet engine that drove his life. He led by example, showing his family that the most impactful lives are often the ones lived with the most gentleness.

Family and Remembrance

Tom’s memory will be carried forward by his devoted wife of 32 years, Jeannie; Tom and Dorothy's children, Christy (James) Snell, Gwenn (Don) Herman, and Rob (Kristi) Margison; Jeannie's children, Dana and Matt Sabus, and Gina and Darren Long along with ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dorothy Margison (Beauvais); and his son, Thomas L. Margison.

In accordance with Tom’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Following a private family gathering to honor his life, he will be laid to rest at Imperial Gardens.
