The family of Virginia Mae Tincher, 96 is saddened to announce her passing on November 13th, 2025. She was born on September 8, 1929, in Pueblo, Colorado, with deep roots in the Even family and the Beulah Valley homestead. A cherished family photo shows four young girls—Lilian, Vivian, Teresa Even, and Virginia—riding a horse to school. Virginia lost her parents, Anna and John Jones, and her brother Warren when she was a child, a loss that shaped her strength, resilience, and remarkable spirit. She was lovingly raised by her grandmother, Agatha Even (Cole). She was also preceded by her sister Anna Lash, brother-in-law John Lash; her son Jerry Tincher; her daughter Karen Walker, son-in-law Warren Walker; son-in-law Harold Lopez; and her much-loved niece Sharla Marcus and husband Richard Marcus. She is survived by her children: Melodie (Lloyd) Reynolds of Mounds View, MN; Cynthia Tincher of Pueblo; and Rick (Gaby) Tincher of Rosstal, Germany. She is also survived by her very special nephew, Tom (Betsy) Lash of Columbia, South Carolina—who, as a child, lovingly gave her the nickname “Gee Gee.” Virginia leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. To all who knew her, she was simply “Gee Gee” or “Grandma Gee Gee.” Virginia married Frederick Tincher in 1956; they later divorced. She raised her five children while working full time and eventually retired from the Colorado State Hospital. She loved to crochet, making countless scarves for her family and hats for the Children’s Cancer Society. She adored family history and had an incredible memory. Virginia loved to dance, sharing many stories of dancing at Buddy Johnsons Gayway in Beulah. She rarely missed Jeopardy! loved crossword puzzles; and Chocolates from Germany. Virginia’s kindness, dignity, and grace were an example to everyone blessed to know her. We celebrate a life well lived by a truly remarkable woman whom we will miss dearly. A special thank-you goes out to Center Care, Allelon Care, and Nurses Monica, Heather, Diane and Staff for their loving care, Compassion and support.
Services will be held at Imperial Funeral Home on November 29th, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Ret. Rev. Dean Prophet officiating. Reception to follow services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Denver Children’s Hospital in her name, or the charity of your choice.
