

William “Bill” Boggs, 66, affectionately known as “Ox” and “Bullet”, passed away Dec. 8, 2011. He was born in 1945 in Pueblo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty June Boggs and Beecher Arnold Boggs; Robert Basor, his biological father; and his brother, Edward Boggs. He is survived by his wife, Sharron Boggs; children, Trent (Polly) Boggs, Trevor Boggs, Tracy Boggs, andTraci Way; grandchildren, Kasey and Troy Boggs; and sister, Bernadette Edmunds. Bill graduated from South High School in 1963 and attended SCSC, and played football at both schools. He worked at the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company and retired in 1993 from the DRGR/SP/UP Railroad after 30 years of service. He started working at the bottom, cleaning out boxcars and worked his way up to the top, and retired as the Terminal Trainmaster. Bill belonged to Eagles #145 and BPOE #90. He was on the Board of Directors at the San Isabel Federal Credit Union. Bill enjoyed being with family, especially his grandchildren; friends; football; hunting; Nascar; golf; the new house and yard; the computer; the cabin; his Prowler; and car shows. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was good-hearted and caring. He was a very wise man and had a wealth of information. He enjoyed writing articles to “Tell it to the Chieftain.” Bill will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends. At his request, cremation with no viewing. Memorial service 10 a.m. Wed., St. Mary Church. In lieu of food and flowers, donations may be made to either the Diabetes Association or the Cancer Society through the funeral home.
