He leaves behind to cherish his memory: daughters, Kay (Tom) O’Rourke of Canon City, Judy (Sniff) Kovacich and Joan Brown (Dennis Emery), and sons-in-law, Frank Straziscar, and Ron Pierce, all of Pueblo; grandchildren, Sean (Nancy) Straziscar, Plainfield, IN, Tom (Debbie) O’Rourke Jr, Michael (Julie) O’Rourke, John (Lisa) O’Rourke all of Canon City, Tammy Minuhin (Derek Vasquez), Colorado Springs, Jennifer Kovacich, Denver, Shari (John) Trivisonno, Dan Kovacich, Jim (Sandra) Lany, Dawn (Gene) Jones, Shay (Mo) Valdez, and Kimberley Groves all of Pueblo, as well as 24 great-great grandchildren. Lew moved from Ft. Collins to Pueblo in 1949 to work at the Pueblo Ordinance Depot, now known as the Pueblo Chemical Depot. He retired in 1976 and actively restored Model A’s and other antique vehicles for the rest of his life, becoming known to many old-car owners as “The Model A Man.” Lew was a member of Sertoma (Service to Mankind) Club for many years, a 51-year and charter member of the Southern Colorado Chapter of VMCCA (Veteran Motor Car Clubs of America) and the Southern Colorado A’s as well as a member of the local chapter of the Hot Rod Association.
