Mr. McNeil was the son of the late Richardson Lee and Tennie Leonard McNeil and preceded in death by sisters Lucille Bowers, Ruby McMunn, Ona Barksdale, and brother Charles McNeil.
Visitation will be Wednesday April 13, 2011 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday April 14, 2011 at Carr & Erwin Chapel with interment in Maplewood Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife Patricia McNeil, sons Joey McNeil, Timothy McNeil, Joseph Pitts, Billy Pitts, daughters Susie Gullette, Cindy Kent, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
