Mrs. Adcock grew up in Giles County. She was married in 1958 and lived in Nashville for several years. In 1965 she moved back to a farm in Giles County, where she was a proud homemaker and farmer. She taught her children and grandchildren to love the land and farm life but most of all -- to love the Lord.
Lacy was active in the Campbellsville community and had many cherished, lifelong friends. She was instrumental in the life of her beloved church, Liberty Hill Baptist, and looked forward to teaching Sunday school, serving and worshiping with her many friends there. She also treasured her friendship with the Amish community in Ethridge.
She was passionately dedicated to living out her Christian mission: to compassionately love and serve others. Her occupation was officially homemaker but her family called her the original “Meals on Wheels” in Giles County. Friends – and sometimes strangers alike -- enjoyed a home-cooked meal from Granny’s kitchen, which was always open late especially for her grandchildren.
Even as she bravely fought cancer, she lived out her Christian faith and was an inspiration to all who visited and helped care for her.
The family wishes to thank the many angels who cared for her at Maury Regional Hospital, St. Thomas Medical Partners and finally at Hillview Nursing Home. She was immensely grateful for every act of kindness shown to her and to her family.
Memorials may be made to Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Ethridge or to the cemetery fund at Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church.
