She then moved to Washington DC and began her 30-year career working for the United States Government and the Social Security Administration Department. Janet and her first husband, Phillip, lived in Virginia, Alabama, and settled in Conneaut Lake, PA. After his unexpected death, she married her soulmate, Ralph Bradshaw. She continued to live in Conneaut Lake until Ralph’s unexpected death in 1995. Soon after, she moved to be with her daughters in Port Charlotte, Florida, where she lived until the time of her passing.
Janet loved to read, watch Wheel of Fortune, play golf, bingo, and cards, and spend time with her family and friends. She loved attending her grandchildren’s performances, shows, graduation ceremonies, etc.! She expressed great joy and pride at seeing them succeed and loved being part of each of their lives. Her legacy will live on through them.
Janet’s memory will carry on with all those who loved her. Her wishes were to have no funeral or memorial services. She asked for a gravesite, intimate service that will be held later this summer. She will be buried next to her husband, Ralph, and daughter, Lisa, in Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania.
“And, just at the moment when someone says, 'There, she is gone,' there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, 'Here she comes!'” ~ Henry Van Dyke
