

Nancy attended Atlantic City schools growing up, and graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1949. She graduated from Syracuse University in New York, in 1953. Nancy was a long time teacher at Neptune High School in New Jersey. Upon her retirement, Nancy lived in Punta Gorda for 46 years, and loved the town, dearly. She served as President of her Southwind condo HOA, for a number of years. She was also a longtime member of both the Charlotte Harbor and Punta Gorda Yacht Clubs. An avid Bridge player, she took part in many Bridge clubs in the area. Nancy was also a dedicated Florida Gator football fan.
Nancy is survived by her son, Jeff Soper, Daughter-in-Law, Judy Soper, and Grandson’s, Kyle and Rick Soper. She is further survived by her Step-Daughter, Vicki Perkins, her husband, Roger Hess, their children, Sarah Hess Mackenzie and John Perkins, as well as Great Grandchildren, Graham, Jaime, Finley and Georgia Rose. Additional Perkins Grandchildren include Terry, Christine, and Bobby.
She was preceded in death by her Mom and Dad, Albert and Sara Smith, Step-Mother Emma Smith, Husbands Herbert Soper and Jack Perkins, Son Steve Soper, companion Clarence Darnell, and Step-Son Gary Perkins.
Nancy’s Memorial Service will take place in Punta Gorda, on Thursday, March 20th, at 2PM, at: Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, at 635 E. Marion Ave., Punta Gorda, FL.33950.
