After retiring, Richard and his family moved to a small farm in Erie, Colorado where he “ranched” for 35 years. From there he retired again to Palisade, Colorado where he enjoyed tending his grape vineyards and his peach and apricot orchards. Richard retired one more time to Punta Gorda, Fl. where he enjoyed fishing, boating and of course that fantastic view he had of the Peace River from his recliner.
He had many hobbies, among them cooking, jewelry making, scuba diving, stamp and coin collecting, gardening, photography, beer and wine making, as well as a new interest in genealogy.
He often said his greatest joy in life was his family and raising his children. More recently he was overjoyed with meeting his Great-granddaughter Violette Rose.
He is greatly missed, loved by many and remembered by all who met him.
No services are planned in Punta Gorda per his request.
