Born in Jersey City, Bob grew up in Kearny, raised his family in Parsippany, and later moved to Brick before retiring to Bay Forest in Naples, Florida. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Sonarman aboard the KD Bailey and went on to work as a computer salesman for Control Data. His love for the sea never faded as he always had a home by the water, owned several boats and remained an active member of the Tin Can Sailors.
Bob was a man of many passions. He found joy in collecting and restoring antique cars, history, cooking (his famous chili and hotdogs) and traveling. He cherished his Lithuanian heritage and had the opportunity to travel there to immerse himself in the culture. Never one to shy away from good company, he was a member and Former President of Shore Acres Community Club, Jamaica Bay Veteran’s Club, and served as the President of the Meatloaf Monday Club, where his love of food and friendship shone through.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Loretta, his sons Robert "Bobby" and John, his sister-in-law Concetta, and his parents, Joseph and Anna Kazawic.
He is survived by his daughter Allison and her husband Tom, his son Christopher and his wife Amie, and his brother Donald Kazawic. He was a proud grandfather to Kayla (Kevin), Tommy, Mackenzie, Reilly, Delaney, Amanda (Scott), Leann, RJ, and their mother Lisa. Bob also leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews, Michelle, Donnie (Jamie), and Jennifer (Craig), and many incredible friends whom he considered family.
Bob lived a life filled with love, laughter, and deep friendships. His generosity, wisdom, and sense of humor touched the lives of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to OperationHomefront.org to help out a Veteran in need or consider honoring Bob’s memory by visiting residents at a local nursing home—a small act of kindness that would have meant the world to him.
