Thomas Lee Fisher

Thomas Lee Fisher (Coach Fish) passed peacefully on December 11, 2021. Tom was born on March 8, 1940, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Fred Thomas and Anale Pate Fisher. He is survived by his sister, Sherry Gummer; his daughter, Tara Fisher and her children, Dylan and Kyra Moore; his son, Thomas L. Fisher II (Fish) and his son, Leelyn Thomas Fisher; and other family siblings, Lisa Bauer, Amanda Roth, and James Brian Fisher. Tom attended the University of Miami, to begin his college career. He finished his degree and graduated from Indiana State University with a major in physical education and a minor in art. Tom received his masters from Illinois State University.

Tom’s life work was dedicated to Charlotte County’s Education Community, as a teacher, coach, dean, and administrator at Charlotte High School and the Port Charlotte Cultural Center. His love of boating and the water led him to become a certified YMCA Scuba Instructor, before eventually becoming the business owner of his dive shop, Aqua Scuba.
