Dorothy Louise "Dode" Stanifer

Born November 6th, 1940 in Puyallup WA. Went to heaven on December 17th, 2013 to join her mother and 5 siblings. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Joe Stanifer. Dorothy is the mother of 5 children; Dave Hill, Denice (Chuck) White, Jenny (Scott) Curran, Angela Wilkins (Eric Treuter)and Casey Stanifer. Grandma Dode's pride and joy were her 7 grandchildren Tiana winchell, Justin Hill, Greg White, Daniel White, Denny Curran, Andrea Curran and Nickolas Wilkins. As well as 5 great grandchildren (Braden, Blake, Alyssia, Joey and Jayden) and many extended family members and friends.Dode retired from the Washington state soldiers home after 20 years of service as a dietary specialist. After Retirement she enjoyed spending time at home with her family and in her flower garden. She also enjoyed sewing, including personalized blankets for each family member, and her time at the casino. She was a charter member of the Orting Eagles auxiliary #3480. Despite the loving care of her husband Joe, she succumbed to a long debilitating illness that she fought with inner strength and dignity. Her love and compassion will be missed by all that knew her but her spirit will live on through all that she touched. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday the 27th of December at 11:30am at the Rivers Edge Church in Orting, WA (preceded by a 10:30 viewing). A reception at the Orting Eagles will be held following the services. In lieu of flowers make donations to the Orting Food Bank in her honor.
