Elsie June Morton

Elsie June Morton Passed away, surrounded by her family, in Richland Washington September 27, 2015 at the age of 87. Elsie was born to Christoffer and Loretta Hagen on June 1,1928 in Glendale Oregon. Her childhood was an adventure living in the backwoods of Oregon during the depression. She graduated from Camas Valley High school and later received training to become a secretary in Spokane Washington. There she met the love of her life Paul Morton and was married in 1948. They started their life together in Davenport Washington, later moved to Walla Walla. They arrived to the Puyallup valley in 1961. In 1962 she became the first secretary for a new school "West jr. high". She was to be there till her retirement in 1987. Elsie and Paul enjoyed many trips traveling throughout Arizona and other parts of the southwest. They traveled the Alaska Highway and celebrated the 50th anniversary of its construction. While touring the great state of Alaska they took time to do some Halibut fishing and salmon fishing with great success. They traveled to China and walked on the "Great Wall" and toured numerous historical temples . Last but not least they cruised through the Panama canal to Florida experiencing their own version of the "Love Boat". Elsie moved to Prosser and later Richland to be close to her family. She was proud to be a 2 time Cancer survivor having had Kidney and Lung cancer.

Elsie is survived by her Brother Walter Hagen, son Cal (Donna) Morton, Daughter Shirley, 5 Grandchildren: Brian (Melanie) Morton, Scott (Rachel) Morton, Andrew Morton, Valerie (Denton) Cantwell, and Haley Morton. 8 great grandchildren: Joey Morton, Lily Morton, Cody Morton, Gracie Morton, Danica Morton, Chloe Morton, David Cantwell, and Declan Cantwell, as well as numerous Nieces and Nephews and friends of all ages. Elsie was preceded in Death by her Husband Paul Morton, Parents Christofer and Loretta Hagen, Brother Robert (Laverna) Cole, Sisters Beatrice (Russ) Carter, Twyla (Herbert) Salvage,Julia (Gerald) LaRose.
