Jessica was born on May 14, 1983 in Portland Oregon, and Passed: April 23, 2016 in Graham WA she was 32 years old.
Jessica is survived by her sons Avery and Ayden and her 6 month old daughter Cora, her siblings Trisha, Randy & Courtney and her parents, Randy & Lori Chambers. She is also survived by her Grandparents, Walter & Sharon Hanson, and Sharon Irving, all of Portland Oregon. Add to the list, countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mom says Jessica was the most difficult to deliver during birth, and yet the easiest to raise, because of her easy going personality and demeanor. She barely ever cried. Her grandmother Sharon Hanson once asked if she was ok, or, if she had a voice? Lol Jessica was really that happy! Her Grandpa Dan Chambers once said, “If I could be guaranteed, that they would all be like this one, I would have a million of them”.
One day when Jessica was about 15 months old she was stung on the foot by a bee, she didn’t cry. The same day she fell off of the porch, and made a tad bit of a whimpering sound, and got up and walked away. She started limping, but it was thought that it was from the bee sting. She continued to limp for about two weeks. Her mother noticed her favoring her leg while being changed. She was taken to the doctor, and it was discovered that she had fractured her leg. She never let anything bother her. She loved sucking her thumb, and could pacify herself easily.
Jessica was a natural mother. She showed signs of this when being around all of her younger cousins. They all flocked around her for hugs and inspiration. She would wrap her arms around them all at the same time and would lead them off to play.
Jessica loved camping with her family, and friends, and going on trips and vacations. She especially enjoyed Disney Land. She liked going to parks and hiking at such a tender age. She was always very coordinated. She could walk a log better than many of the older kids. One time while sitting in her high chair, she was watching a fly buzzing around and she reached out and grabbed it right out of the air. She was only 16 months old.
The family moved to Kent WA in 1988 when Jessica was 4 1/2 years old. She started Kindergarten in the fall of 1988. She loved school, and made friends easily! She was shy, but never failed to flash everyone the biggest smile. She felt secure having her brother Randy, and her sister Trisha surrounding her with the many activities that they were all involved in. Jessica joined the girl scouts, and did talent shows and she later enjoyed or tried almost every sport, from Basketball, T-Ball, Soccer, and softball. She wasn’t always the best athlete but seemed to enjoy socializing more than the sport itself. She was really good at socializing! She loved everyone. If you were her friend, you were always her friend.
Later she enjoyed Cheerleading through the South King County Kent Knights Football and Cheer. There she made many life-long friends as did her Brother and Sister. She stuck that out for about five years, and made many cherished memories.
When she was in the 5th grade she discovered that she was going to be a big sister for the first time. She was very excited about the news! Her baby sister Courtney (Me) came along just when her 6th grade year started. She loved her new baby sister very much! It was as if she had a live baby doll that she could play with.
She would take her to her room, and play dress up and put makeup on her. She really enjoyed her baby sister! Two years later she became an Aunt for the first time. She also loved playing with her new baby niece. It made her realize that children were not toys. With all of this, she seemed to learn that it would be a good idea to wait a few years before she married and had children.
While Jessica was in high school, she worked as a barista at the small portable local coffee stand in Covington, which is now known as Big Foot Java. She absolutely loved working and earning money. At times she worked as many as 3 jobs at the same time.
Jessica Graduated from Kent Lake High School in 2001. She moved to Puyallup with her family soon after her graduation. She continued to work as a Barista part time, and then landed a job at Alaska Airlines.
Jessica was full of quick wit, humor and charm, and was always known for her smile that would light up a room! Even though she had a very shy side to her, and didn’t like the spotlight on herself. Part of her humor came from diverting the spotlight off of her. Jessica loved everyone and made each person feel as though they were the most important person in the world. She had a great connection with people and truly loved everyone for who they were.
Jessica enjoyed working for Alaska Airlines and the benefits it provided her. She was able to take advantage of the free trips to many places. She went to Mexico a couple of times, Las Vegas and various other places. She always took her friends with her using those free Buddy passes. She had a blast and enjoyed it thoroughly!
Jessica was always also very artistic! She loved making things from the time she was a young child. Besides Sunshine, one of her other little known nicknames was messy Jessi. She would save things that she might possibly make something out of. She had an eye for it. One time Mom was helping her clean her room and she found a ball of tape all rolled up. Mom was about to throw it away and Jessica said, “No! Don’t throw that away, that could be a head”! She enjoyed painting, sewing, and creating many things. She loved to bake, and decorate her home. She recently enjoyed gardening and making her yard beautiful! She also loved making her house a home! She was a very clean organized person as she grew into herself.
Jessica was ecstatic when she found out that she was going to be a Mother! She worked her job all the way through almost the day of delivery of Avery. She then worked weekends just until about the delivery of Ayden. After that she decided to be a full time Mother, and stay at home with them. She did that in career fashion!
She became a mother to her first child Avery at the age of 27, and 11 months later she had her second son Ayden and still age 27. The day after Ayden was born Jessica turned 28. Everyone called the boys Irish twins. Jessica loved being a Mother! She was so proud of her children and doted on them daily! She was very, routine with them. Every morning they would be bathed, dressed, and ready for breakfast, and the world. She enjoyed dressing them up. Every day was a gift, and she knew how important each day was.
She planned beautiful fabulous birthday parties, and made all of the decorations herself. She wanted the very best for her children! She loved them more than words could say. It truly showed!
After raising the boys for a couple of years, she decided that she wanted more education. She then started working on her AA degree. She finished her degree and started feeling a little more accomplished. She decided to take a break from continuing her education. It was a challenge to raise children and be in school. She wanted everything to be done perfectly!
Jessica soon learned that she was about to have another baby. Again, she was very excited and looked forward to being a mom one more time. She was beyond excited to know that she was having a girl this time! This meant pink ribbons and bows, and a very girly nursery which again she decorated herself! The nursery was beautiful!
She did everything with flare and pizzazz! She managed to deliver her beautiful daughter Cora on her own Fathers Birthday. Wow! What a birthday gift she gave him!
Jessica was full of goals and determination! She had more plans for her future. There is no doubt that she would have conquered more of the world!
She left a legacy behind her, and she was admired by many! Jessica knew how to treat people. If you could say you learned anything from her it was how to be kind and treat each person with the respect that we all would like to be treated like. Jessica loved her siblings and her family very much! She was also loved by many and especially her family and children. She will be missed greatly! I think that she would be completely blown away by all of the love and support shown in her honor, and to her Family.
She might say something like,
“All of this fuss over little ole me”?
