

Marguerite W. Gunderson, 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 30, 2011 due to a stroke. She was born on January 3, 1935 to Edward and Cora Stipes in Keokee, VA. She raised 4 children and was an LPN at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma for over 20 years. Marguerite married Lloyd Gunderson on February 15, 1980 in Tacoma and after retirement they moved to beautiful Port Angeles. Marguerite was a member of New Life Open Bible Church where she loved to worship her Savior. She was also a member and an active participant of the Christian Women’s Connection, TOPS, Port Angeles Garden Club, AGLOW, and was the Queen, of the “Oh Scarlett Chapter” of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed family gatherings, travel, playing card games, cooking new recipes, and reading. Marguerite was an amazing prayer warrior and wanted all she knew to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16 KJV) She was loved by so many, such a joy to have around, and will be greatly missed. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents and step-son Michael Gunderson. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Gunderson of Port Angeles, Daughter Barbara (Tom) Melvard of Puyallup, Cora (James) Lee of Graham, son David (Terri) of Tacoma, daughter Deborah Dube of Port Angeles, and step-son Gerald (Tammy) Gunderson of Federal Way. She had 18 grandchildren: Bryan (Dana), David (Amanda), Cara (Brian), Sabrina (Mike), Jared, Kaitlyn, Danielle (Justin), Jessica, Chase, Taylor, Hannah, Vincent, Brianna, Amy Jo, Jamie, Jennifer, Michelle, Courtney and also 19 Great-Grandchildren. She had 4 siblings: Joyce (Victor) Marker of Tacoma, Edward (Judy) Stipes Jr. of Sumner, James (Ingrid) Stipes of Mercer Island, and Linda Stipes of Tacoma and many nieces and nephews.
