Robert Joseph Dorothy

Robert Joseph Dorothy, originally of Keosauqua, Iowa, passed on Oct. 30, 2014 after losing his battle with cancer. Bob graduated from Van Buren Community School in 1970 and entered the United States Army in 1972. He retired from the Army in 1992, living in Puyallup,Washington with his wife Marjorie.

Bob Dorothy never met a stranger. His outgoing personality and simple charm brought him into the lives of many. He was an avid Mariners and Seahawks fan. He loved to travel,visiting every state in the United States and many, manyball parks and golf courses along the way. More than any of these things, he was a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who never stopped working to make himself better.That desire to change, to improve and to love more will be his legacy.

Bob is survived by his wife, Marjorie Dorothy; his sisters Jean McIntosh and Julie Shannan; his brother, Bill Dorothy; his daughter and son-in-law, James and Megan Batie; his son and daughter-in-law, Matt Dorothy and Janell Johnson. Additionally, Bob is survived by the grandchildren he adored, Oscar and Azumi Johnson-Dorothy and Tanner, Kody and Emma Batie.
