

Rosella Mae Cunningham was born on May 20, 1935 to Haakon and Emma Hanson in Lowry, South Dakota. She married the love of her life, Melvin Cunningham on March 20, 1954. The couple moved from South Dakota to Washington in 1957. Rose raised five children, and after the kids became school age she began her career as a great cook. She was well-known for her homemade pies. Rose was very active in all of her kids’ school activities. After she retired, she and Mel began camping, fishing and travelling. She became ill in February 2013 and is now at peace and pain-free and will be dearly missed by all. Rose is survived by her husband of 59 years Melvin, her daughters Sharon of Aberdeen, SD and Kathy of South Prairie, WA, and her son Richard of South Prairie, her 5 grandchildren Cherie, Shawn, Rosella, Trisha and Kristina, 13 great grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren Danny and Annie, five step-great grandchildren, her sisters Shirley and Pam and her brothers Jerry, Bobby and David. Rose was preceded in death by two sons Timothy and Melvin Jr.,her parents and her sisters Vangie and Vivian.
