

Wanda Lee Gillispie Wanda Lee Gillispie, 92, died March 21. She was born Feb. 2, 1921 in Olequa, close to Aberdeen, WA, to Johan and Mary Miller. Wanda met Harold Gillispie in Morton, WA while working at the Post Office. They were married on Oct. 26, 1946, and enjoyed over 50 years together, until Harold passed away on Feb. 21, 1997. The family relocated from Morton to Puyallup in 1961. Wanda worked at many jobs to help support the family. O'Farrell's Restaurant and American Building Maintence at Weyerhaeuser were very memorable to her. She also worked at the Puyallup Fair and volunteered at Group Health, Tacoma South. She also was recognized as one of the Senior voters in Pierce County. She was preceded in death by her sisters Emma Iholts and Gladys Rushton. She is survived by her 5 children and spouses: John and Leslie Gillispie of Spokane, Mick Gillispie of Puyallup, Sam and Nancy Gillispie of Portland, OR, Koeta Imhof of Puyallup, and Sherrie and Rick Simpson of Puyallup, 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Viewing is March 27 from 4-8 pm at Powers Funeral Home, Puyallup. Funeral services will be held March 28 at 10 am at the funeral home with Danny Lawty officiating. Graveside services to follow in the Klickitat Cemetery in Mossyrock, with reception at Salkum Fire Hall, 2495 U.S. 12, Salkum, WA 98582. Arrangements are by Powers Funeral Home, Puyallup.
