Winifred Dorothy Cox

Winnie died at home on Tuesday June 21, 2011 at the age of 93. She was born in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin on February 8, 1918. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Cox Sr. She will be missed by her daughter Mary Cox and her two sons, David Cox (Cathi) and Stuart Cox Jr. (Barbara). Her siblings include John Wood, deceased, (Rosemary), Jim Wood (Rose, deceased), Bob Wood (Vivian). Grandchildren include David Cox, Aimee Cox, Dorothy Rowland (Bruce), Seth Cox, Steven Cox, Sean Cox and great granddaughter Choloe Cottrell. She was a resident of Brown's Point for over 70 years, and worked as a retail grocery clerk for many years. She will be remembered for her willingness to "go the extra mile" to help others, especially the elderly and the ill. Her family and friends enjoyed her artistic abilities, culinary skills and the beauty of her garden. She loved nature and delighted in hiking through the flower-filled meadows of Mt. Rainier with family and friends. She will be remembered as a compassionate, loving and generous lady.
